Why Solomonsdiving Exists
Solomonsdiving is a small independent blog for people who love the water and want to understand it better before they get in. It is written for first-time snorkelers, certified divers planning a trip, and curious travellers who want to know what lives beneath the surface of a tropical island.
Three subjects, one shoreline
The articles fall into three areas that feed into each other. A good dive trip depends on knowing the reef, and knowing the reef makes a visit to the island more rewarding.
- Diving & Snorkeling looks at masks, fins, exposure protection, buoyancy habits, trip planning and the questions beginners are often shy to ask.
- Marine Life describes reef fish, corals, turtles, rays and sharks, how they behave and how to watch them without disturbing them.
- Island Travel covers getting to and around island destinations, what to pack, how to read local conditions and how to be a considerate guest.
How the pieces are put together
The goal is practical guidance a reader can use on the next trip. Facts about species, conditions and safety practice are checked against marine science references, training agency materials and the manufacturer’s own instructions when a product is mentioned. When something depends on season, location or personal fitness, the article says so plainly.
Reefs, regulations and travel routes change over time, so older pages are revisited and revised when they stop being accurate.
Who is reading
Some readers have never put their face in the sea, while others log dives every season. Nothing here assumes expensive equipment or a long holiday.
